Dylan Cattanach & Campbell Harris went to Music Industry College, a school that is producing some of Australia’s best up and coming musicians, but surprisingly never met each other. It wasn't until both boys were involved in another band, Dylan as drummer and Cam as bassist, that they met. Dylan had a few songs tucked away and approached Cam to help him get his ideas down. KB Theory was formed.
The fledgling band's drummer moved on and perchance Dylan met Andrew Barnes at an arts performance they were both playing in. Andy jumped at the chance. The search was then on for a lead guitarist. Harry Verity had been in the picture for quite a while. His brother is Dylan's best mate and Dylan had seen Harry honing his guitar skills over a number of years. Welcome to the Brissie scene KB Theory.
Since the release of their debut single Lights of Tokyo in February, KB Theory have been playing on as many stages as possible. It's this tenacity for raucously energetic live performances that landed the band a show for Rare Finds playing alongside Sunshine Coast's High Tropics in July, which gave fans a taste of what's to come from their newly announced launch shows.
'Lights' was followed up with 'Journey' in April and shows that their sights are definitely looking towards the future. With the release of ‘HOPE’ on 6th July, KB Theory are in the process of planning a tour for November as well as festival appearances at Teneriffe Festival, Redfest and Bigsound - Going Underground.
